The Configuration Image Facility can automatically save an image of your desktop before installing any programs. This is useful if you find it necessary to later return your system to its initial condition (as if DeskMan/2 had never been installed). DevTech recommends that you enable this facility. In the Do DM/2 WPS Image backup before install? section, be sure the radio button labeled Yes is selected.
If you enable the DM/2 WPS Image backup, the DeskMan/2 Installation Tool will perform a limited backup during the installation process, storing the Workplace Shell information that is saved on the disk drive containing your operating system only. If you have stored objects on drives other than this drive, they will not be saved at this time.
Click your left mouse button
once on the button labeled
Proceed.
Enter the name under which you wish to register DeskMan/2,
then click your left mouse button
once on the button
labeled OK.
When the backup is complete, the DeskMan/2 Installation Tool will verify the accuracy of the saved image. If the Installation Tool detects a change in the computer's configuration between the start of the backup and the end of the verify procedure, it will display a Warning message. You can choose to either save or discard the backup image, and the installation will continue.
If, however, the DeskMan/2 Installation Tool encounters a condition that will probably prevent a successful backup, it will display an Error message. The Installation Tool will discard the image and continue with the installation.
When the DeskMan/2 Installation Tool has successfully completed the installation, it will notify you.
