- Open the DeskMan/2 Install object in the DevTech
folder, or run the INSTALL.EXE file from an OS/2 command line
interface. The DeskMan/2 Installation Tool will display the
welcome screen. Open the Actions menu, select the Remove
components submenu, and notice that the DeskMan/2 Installation
Tool provides two options:
- Unregister Components - Selecting this menu item will
uninstall the DeskMan/2 components you select, but will not
remove the associated files from your disk drive. You can later
reinstall the components without using the installation diskettes.
- Remove Components - Selecting this menu item will uninstall
the DeskMan/2 components you select, and will also remove the
associated files from your disk drive. To reinstall the components you
removed, you will need the installation diskettes. This menu item will
not remove files created by DeskMan/2 during normal use, such as
the archive and configuration files. You must remove these manually.
Neither will this menu item remove changes made to your CONFIG.SYS file.
If you selected Unregister Components, go to Step 2 at this
time. If you selected Remove Components, go to Step 3 at this
time.
- If you selected Unregister Components, the DeskMan/2
Installation Tool will ask which components to uninstall.
Select the components you wish to uninstall. The DeskMan/2
Installation Tool will unregister these components, but will leave
the program and supporting files on your disk. These components will
not be usable until you reinstall them.
Click your <left mouse button
> once on the button
labeled Uninstall, then go on to Step 4.
- If you selected Remove Components, the DeskMan/2
Installation Tool will ask which components to remove.
Select the components you wish to remove, click your left mouse
button
once on the button labeled Remove, then go on to
Step 4.
- The DeskMan/2 Installation Tool will uninstall or remove the
components you selected and tell you when it has finished.
Click your left mouse button
on the button labeled
OK, and the DeskMan/2 Installation Tool will return you to
the Welcome screen.
- Click your
left mouse button
on the button labeled
Exit, then shut down your computer using the Shut down
item on the desktop pop-up menu, and restart your computer to
complete the installation.
