This is the third page of the Repository Set Configuration
Settings Notebook.
Click your <left mouse button
> once on the tab
labeled Configuration to display the settings describing its own
configuration definition.
- Use the Temporary Directory text entry box to tell the
Configuration Image Facility which directory to use for temporary
file storage. If an environment variable named TMP, TEMP, or TEMPDIR
exists, then this setting will default to the directory associated with
that variable. Otherwise, the setting will default to the installation
directory. You can override this setting to any valid directory.
- Use the Logging checkboxes and text entry box to control how
the Configuration Image Facility records PMImage activity:
- Select the Logging Enabled checkbox to direct the
Configuration Image Facility to record all PMImage activity.
- Select the Append to Log checkbox, and all new events will be
added to the end of the log file, rather than overwriting the file. If
you select this option, remember to purge this file from time to time
to limit its size.
- Select the Use PMPRINTF checkbox to send all logging events
to a program called PMPRINTF. PMPRINTF must be running for the
Configuration Image Facility to send reports to it. Refer to the
Some Terms and Procedures to Remember section of Chapter 1 for a
discussion of PMPRINTF.
- If you have selected the Logging Enabled checkbox, the
Configuration Image Facility will send all logging output to the
file specified in the Log File data field. This file name is
PM2IMAGE.LOG by default, but you can use any valid name you wish.
Be sure to include the full path specification if you wish this file
to be saved in a directory other than where this repository set will be
saved.
- Use the Include Drives checkboxes to select drives to be
included in the backup process. Users with multiple bootable partitions
will probably wish to exclude those extraneous partitions from a given
repository set.
If the System .INI file, the User .INI file, or the WIN-OS/2 files
are on a drive that has not been selected, they will still be backed up,
but the drive will not be checked for other files to be included in the
backup.
