With the Object Manager, you can:
- Save and recreate selected objects or folders, including all the
objects on your desktop, along with their associated access policies and
Access Control objects;
- Designate the archive to be used individually for each object, even
using archives located on file servers;
- Transport objects between desktops, computers, and versions of
OS/2;
- Save, restore, and transport system settings;
- Recreate OS/2 "standard" objects (e.g. printers, including
their queues);
- Examine object settings, and create REXX files to recreate certain
types of objects;
- Selectively remove the Lockup, Shut down, Find,
and Window list buttons from the LaunchPad;
- Delete "unshreddable" objects such as the shredder itself, desktops,
and some templates; and,
- Recover from accidental changes to your desktop.
