Using DeskMan/2 1.x Archives

DeskMan/2 version 1.x saved its archives in ASCII format. Users upgrading from DeskMan/2 version 1.x can recover their previously saved archives.

To open an archive created using DeskMan/2 version 1.x:

1. Open any DeskMan/2 version 2.0 archive.
2. Open the container pop-up menu.
3. Select the Open menu item.
4. DeskMan/2 will open a file selection dialog. Select the archive file to open. DeskMan/2 version 1.x files will end with .DRC.

To convert a DeskMan/2 version 1.x archive to the DeskMan/2 version 2.0 format:

1. Open the DeskMan/2 version 1.x archive.
2. Open the container pop-up menu.
3. Select the Export as sub-menu.
4. Select the 2.x repository menu item.

To save a DeskMan/2 version 2.x archive as a DeskMan/2 version 1.x archive:

1. Open the DeskMan/2 version 2.x archive you wish to save.
2. Open the container pop-up menu.
3. Select the Export as sub-menu.
4. Select the RC format menu item.

Note : Some DeskMan/2 version 2.x information cannot be converted to version 1.x.
